The Acropolis is the main ancient cult center of Athens and a masterpiece of the world cultural heritage today ! You need to see it yourself in order to understand what really the Acropolis is, to admire the Greek genius expressed not only in architecture and art, but also in philosophy and all sciences. You will realise that all forms and ideas the Greeks created back then serve the whole world today… That’s why Greece is the cradle of the whole Western European culture and civilization.
200 years of excavations and restoration works give us the opportunity to enjoy the artifacts in the Acropolis Museum. We can see things that the ancient Athenians used when they started their families, built their houses, theaters, hospitals, temples, etc. It is simply impossible not to exclaim with joy, looking at the ruins of the ancient city under your feet, walking on the glass floor of the museum!!! On the top floor of the museum is the Parthenon Hall with original sculptural decoration of the temple of Goddess Athena. And what a view of the Acropolis itself ! What you need to have with you is a camera to immortalize this joyful moment!
The Modern And Ancient Center Of Athens

Take the chance to stroll through the modern and ancient center of Athens. What is common between them and what is different?
Walking through the modern city, we will see the beautiful neoclassical buildings of the Science Academy , the First University, and the National Library. We will then head towards Parliament and stop at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier honourably guarded by Evzones (Military Unit ), dressed in traditional 19th century military uniform. After this, we will walk through the National Garden towards the Panathenaic Stadium, where in 1896 the first modern Olympics were revived. We will pass by the Zappio Palace, the Temple of Olympian Zeus and enter the old part of the city called Plaka.
Here we will have a coffee break. Later on we will pass by the Roman Market and Hadrian’s Library, and then visit the Ancient Agora. It is there that we will see and understand where and how the heart of the ancient city beat, where democracy was born, where philosophers could be heard, where and how the Greeks spent and spend most of their lives.

Marathon

Who hasn’t heard about the famous Marathon Battle and Marathon Races?!!!! Let’s go to see where everything happened back then! Approaching the Marathon Dam, we will make a short stop to look at the beautiful lake and take pictures. Later on we will visit the Archaeological Museum of Marathon to see the artifacts from excavations . Next stop will be the Marathon plain itself, where the Greek intelligence and strategy defeated the “invincible Persians” 2.500 years ago and all these ancient maneuvers are still taught in military schools around the world to this day! The Marathon Tomb, a massive mound that covered the cremated remains of the 192 Athenians who died in this battle and were buried where they fell. Marathon battle…. A battle of Democracy for freedom…. Marathon Races as a tribute to our history.
